Thaddeus J. Przybylowski

Thaddeus J. Przybylowski, 82, of Cheltenham, whom many knew as “Teddy Miller” in Bridesburg, where he operated a real estate business for decades, died Wednesday, April 17, after a brief hospitalization.

Mr. Przybylowski ran Miller Realty in Bridesburg, having inherited the business from his father, Casimir, who founded it in 1918. He started working there with his father in the early 1950s.

Miller Realty was such an institution – and Mr. Przybylowski was so appreciated for his energy in the neighborhood – that in 2011, the city government renamed the intersection of Thompson and Orthodox Streets “Przybylowski Corner.”

“He was a very nice gentleman. He cared,” said former Councilwoman Joan Krajewski, who introduced the resolution.

Over the years, Mr. Przybylowski served with business and trade associations in Bridesburg and Northeast Philadelphia and was involved in transportation issues in his neighborhood.

His daughter, Adele Marie Bofinger, said her father was involved in his business, the Catholic Church, and Polish culture. “He spoke Polish and he danced the polka,” she said. She said he went on a Catholic retreat once a year to the Malvern Retreat House.

In addition to his daughter, Mr. Przybylowski is survived by his wife of 58 years, Adela; two sons, Thaddeus and Timothy; and seven grandchildren.

A viewing was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 7631 Waters Rd., Cheltenham, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
